FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SAN CLEMENTE, CA — August 14, 2008 —Ocean Minded, Inc. has hosted several international beach clean ups throughout the summer in a continued effort to protect beaches worldwide; however, on August 12th the company hosted its first ever beach clean up in Japan.
“I am so proud to see such a successful beach clean up in Japan! It was my dream in 1996 to clean beaches all over the world and make a difference in our planet,” said Gary Ward, Ocean Minded’s founder.
Over 30 participants worked together to clean up Yoigahama Beach, a popular windsurfing and swimming destination in Japan. The clean up took place the morning after the Kamakura Hanabi Taikai Fireworks Display at Yuigahama Beach, where over 2,900 fireworks were shot, leaving plenty of debris for the group to clean up. Within an hour the group was able to gather and properly dispose of more than 30 bags of trash weighing over 70 pounds.
“To see how much trash has cleared from our beaches since our first clean up is very powerful. Over the last twelve years there have been countless Ocean Minded beach clean ups and the impact they are having internationally is phenomenal,” Ward concluded.
