Raph Bruhwiler

Considered by many to be the ‘Godfather of Canadian Surfing’, thirty-five year old Raphael Bruhwiler is based in Tofino, British Columbia.

A true highlight of his career came in November 2009, when Raph was asked to be part of the Canadian Olympic Torch relay. He actually surfed with the torch in the waves of the Pacific Rim National Park, near Tofino.

In addition to surfing the sometimes epic (and sometimes FREEZING) local waves, he also enjoys spending his time playing hockey, fishing, hunting, and reading ‘Clifford, The Big Red Dog’ to his daughter every night.

Known for his mellow and easy-going attitude, Raph has also acquired sponsorship from Quiksilver, Creatures of Leisure, and Oakley Eyewear. He, along with most of his family, teach people how to surf at the Bruhwiler Surf School: http://www.bruhwilersurf.com
