You can always find him training and competing in several extreme sports, including stand up paddling (SUP), tow-in surfing, skiing, kite surfing and mountain biking. He recently became the first person to SUP the large waves of the Cortes Bank, a dangerously shallow chain of underwater mountains in the Pacific Ocean, about 115 miles west of San Diego, CA.
